Historical Enquiry in Year 4

Year 4 have continued to develop their historical skills this half-term in their topic: 'Conflict'. They have been investigating the Roman army in some depth by studying their armour and weaponry and have been using sources of evidence to find out information. Along with their investigative skills, they have worked hard to become historical enquirers by asking a variety of questions about the past, which they will then independently research and find the answers to.

As historians, they are working hard to use evidence to build up a picture of how the Roman army fought and have even able to compare the Roman Army with other armies in the same time period!

"Some of these sources are really complicated, you have to work hard to try and understand them.", Shajia, Larch

"It was really fun to ask questions about the past, I can't wait to find out the answers to them now!" Ruby, Birch

It has been brilliant to see all the children develop as historians and we can't wait to see how they communicate all of the information they have learned at the end of the unit. Well done, year 4!
