An interview with Boudicca
This week in topic, Willow class have been acting as fine historians, using their enquiry skills to delve into the life of a key historical figure- Boudicca. We achieved this through the art of drama! To begin with, the children studied a picture of Boudicca and developed their own deep questions they could ask to find out more information. Using his curiosity, Oliwier Bartnik asked 'Why has she got those marks on her arms?' and others enquired about the clothing she was wearing. After finding out a few facts about Boudicca, the children were allocated a role. Some children were interviewing Boudicca and other children were responding to the children as if they were actually Boudicca. By the end of the lesson, I think it was safe to say that the children's knowledge and awareness of this historical figure had increased significantly.
