Year 3 Science

This half term in Year 3, children have been learning about the lungs and heart in Science. They have discovered that exercising is good for the heart and lungs, as well as recognising that their heart rate increases when they exercise.

The children had the opportunity to use a Stethoscope to listen carefully to their heart beat. They also used a Sphygmomanometer to measure their blood pressure. The kids had fun comparing their blood pressure and heart rate to their peers.

"My favourite bit was when we measured our blood pressure because I could feel my pulse beating." - Adi, Hazel class.

"I liked using the stethoscope to listen to my friends' hearts because I could hear it really clearly." - Grace, Hazel class.
